Bohnee, als jij de toetsenist van een band geniaal vindt mag je die er ook bijzetten hoor. Maar ik ben muzikaal niet genoeg onderlegd om een geniale van een hele goeie pianospeler te onderscheiden. Ofzo.

Ik interpreteer het als 'mijn grootste muzikale helden'. Uit de rock, want van andere genres ken ik al helemaal niets.

1. David Bowie. De zakenman, de muzikant, het icoon. Niét de acteur, voor alle duidelijkheid :)

2. Paul McCartney
3. Bob Dylan
4. Johnny Greenwood
5. Tom Waits
6. Nick Cave
7. Ian Curtis
8. Thom Yorke + Björk (een tie)
9. John Lennon
10. Joe Strummer

VERY honorable mentions (want ze kunnen allemaal even goed top 10 halen): Sinatra (telt eigenlijk niet als echte songschrijver, maar ik moét hem wel noemen), Springsteen, Mr. E, 1990s Billy Corgan, Jeff Buckley, Flea en Frusciante, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Jack White, Costello, Peter Hook (lol), Frank Black Francis, George en Ringo, Johnny Cash, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Michael Jackson, Chris Martin, Zack de la Rocha, Beck, Neil Young, Bono en De Rand, en bovenal Mr. Rick 'No Stranger To Love' Astley.

Oh, ik heb een vraagje, past wel in dit topic. Thomas en ik hadden vroeger een bepaalde theorie: dat een groep pas echt goed is (of de leadzanger het waard om leadzanger te zijn) als deze laatste ook een instrument bespeelt. Het is een onderwerp waar we uren over konden discussiëren en we hadden zelfs lijstjes. Ik was er eerst tegen, omdat Red Hot Chili Peppers toen mijn favoriete groep waren (héhé), maar nu kan ik me er wel wat beter in vinden (lol). Het blijft natuurlijk een zeer zeer stom en onnozel criterium, maar wat vinden jullie daar van?

Bono is in elk geval not amused

Ik vind in ieder geval van niet. Je kan toch een groep dragen met je stem en présence zonder een instrument te bespelen.

Er is natuurlijk ook nog een onderscheid tussen leadzangers die zelf mee de songs schrijven natuurlijk. Zoals ik al zei, het is een beetje een dwaas onderscheidingspunt, maar ik moest er opeens aan denken deze morgen :)

Tom Waits, Jacques Brel, Neil Young, Trent Reznor, Nick Cave, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen.

Van deze klopt het geheel: persoonlijkheid, songschrijven, zingen en eventueel instrument. Eeuw mag wel vervangen worden door laatste veertig jaar. ^^
